Hip-hop is mourning the loss of Oliver “Power” Grant, visionary entrepreneur and co-founder of the iconic Wu-Tang Clan.
According to reports, Grant has passed away, leaving behind a powerful legacy rooted in independence, ownership, and cultural impact. A driving force behind one of the most influential movements in music history, Power played a critical role in helping Wu-Tang Clan evolve from a Staten Island collective into a global dynasty.
Beyond music, Grant was an American entrepreneur, producer, streetwear mogul, and actor. He executive produced all of Wu-Tang Clan’s albums and was the original founder and CEO of the Wu-Wear clothing line and retail stores — helping pioneer the blueprint for artist-owned fashion brands long before it became industry standard.
His belief in creative control and community empowerment helped reshape how hip-hop artists approached business, branding, and ownership. What Wu-Tang built wasn’t just a group — it was a movement that merged music, fashion, and entrepreneurship into a self-sustaining empire.
Oliver “Power” Grant’s impact will continue to live on through the culture he helped elevate and the countless lives he inspired.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and supporters.
Rest in power. 🕊️
