Comedian Deon Cole just revealed that talking about rap star Nicki Minaj can often come with some hefty consequences.
Deon Cole Shares Death Threats Over Nicki Minaj Comments
Cole recently shared that his comments about the Grammy Nominee during the 2026 NAACP Image Awards led to him receiving a bevy of disparaging messages. Ranging from Minaj’s fans talking about Cole’s deceased mother to his receiving death threats.
“You better get security for your improve shows #CharlieKirk SOON,” one fan wrote in a DM to the comedian. Referencing the death of podcast host Charlie Kirk, who was shot during a rally in 2009.
“Ya mammy big fat and sloppy. Insides spilling all inside the casket. Hell ever her skeleton probably fat as shit,” another message read.
“I hope you and all your family members get touched in real life. That ought to teach you. Calling all Barbz.”
However, despite receiving a myriad of backlash from Nicki’s fans, Cole had the support of the top tastemakers in the entertainment industry.
“One of the greatest comedic minds to ever grace the planet!!! We got u!!! Keep filling the universe with laughter!” actor Jamie Foxx wrote in the comments section of the Instagram post.
“Don’t let it get to you.. ” You were hilarious last night and doing what comic hosts are supposed to do, be relevant and funny!” comedian Lonie Luv said.
The backlash that Cole received came after he called out the rap artist for her alignment with the Donald Trump administration. During the award ceremony, Cole sarcastically “prayed” for Minaj because of her aforementioned alignment.
“I want you to bless our sister Nicki Minaj,” Cole said during his joke. “She’s been going through a lot lately, but hasn’t been herself, Lord. I believe whatever is in her ass is affecting her brain. Take it out of her ass.”
At the time of writing, Minaj herself has not responded to Cole’s comments. But her fanbase has not minced words.
