Cuban rapper Chocolate MC has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars after taking a plea deal that combines three Miami-Dade cases, including murder-for-hire solicitation, kidnapping, and burglary.
Born Josvany Sierra Hernandez, the 29-year-old was accused of plotting revenge against Damian Valdez-Galloso — the man charged in the 2024 killing of Cuban reggaeton star El Taiger. Prosecutors say Chocolate MC offered a $20,000 bounty for Valdez-Galloso’s death while both were incarcerated and even posted videos targeting him.
The plea deal also covers a December 2024 case where authorities say the rapper kidnapped a fan at gunpoint in Opa-locka after the person asked for a photo, plus a separate hotel burglary — though specific details of this incident remain sealed in court documents.
As part of the agreement, Chocolate MC must undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations while serving his sentence. The Miami Cuban hip-hop figure previously gained buzz through solo records and collaborations with Gente de Zona.
