Cam’ron is weighing in on Bam Adebayo’s historic 83-point performance—and the Harlem rapper isn’t exactly impressed.
During a recent discussion, Cam’ron dismissed the stat line while pointing out that a large portion of Adebayo’s points came from the free-throw line. According to Cam, the performance loses some of its shine because of how many attempts were involved.
“The man shot 43 free throws—you better get 83 points,” Cam’ron said. “This is not a real stat. This ain’t Michael Jordan’s 66 points or Kobe’s 81 points.”
The It Is What It Is co-host also joked that fans shouldn’t bother watching the full game replay, suggesting the highlights would be enough.
“Do not go back and watch this game when you can watch ESPN highlights in four minutes,” he said. “That’s gonna be two hours of your life wasted.”
Cam’ron’s comments quickly sparked debate among fans online, with some agreeing that the high number of free throws changes how the performance should be viewed, while others argue that scoring 83 points in an NBA game—regardless of how it happens—is still an incredible feat.
The performance has already generated major conversation across sports and social media, as fans compare Adebayo’s scoring night to some of the NBA’s most iconic offensive explosions.
