2014 Wayna Morris Interview Resurfaces After Brandy’s Comments
When the group appeared on the morning program, host Charlamagne Tha God addressed the rumor that the Moesha star was “young” when she and Morris dated. He responded by saying she was not “that young.”
Former Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee then chimed in. Referencing past comments where she said she was 15 at the time that they dated, and that’s why they had to keep their relationship under wraps, because he was in his twenties. And Morris confirms that they did “the thing” when she was about “16,17.” He then doubles down and says that Brandy was “old enough to get it.” And that they didn’t do anything in the states where it wasn’t “legal” for them to be in a relationship at that time. He concluded the segment by saying that it was a “relationship” that “grew and ungrew.”

The clip has resurfaced after Brandy recently released her memoir, Phases. Brandy confirmed the longtime rumor that they dated. And that Wanya took her virginity.
“Wanya and I understood, with diamond-cut clarity, that public knowledge of our relationship would ignite scandal, potentially threatening everything we’d both worked for,” she wrote as heard through PEOPLE. “He and I opted for elaborate fiction: we would pretend patience and claim we were waiting until my eighteenth birthday before pursuing any romantic connection.”
She also says that after years of reflection, she has come to terms with the fact that she was “taken advantage,” of.
“I was not a fast girl with a crush. Not a dramatic teenager who couldn’t handle rejection. I was not an unstable, obsessive fan. I was a child. And he was an adult. And it’s time the world understood the difference,” she concludes.
At the time of writing, Wanya has not responded to her comments.
