Lil Yachty is no stranger to pushing the envelope. The Atlanta rapper created controversy with his explicit verse on Action Bronson’s latest single “Triceratops.”
What Did Lil Yachty Say?
The esoteric rapper’s verse starts pretty standard, bragging about money, drinking codeine and having Rent-A-Center fill his mansion. But then, things take a turn.
“The floor filled with bills like I shot up the Highmark Stadium,” Yachty raps. “Told her I want all neck just like Tyler Robinson.”
This is in reference to the controversy spreading assassination of right wing podcaster Charlie Kirk, who was killed while speaking at one of his infamous debate events on the campus of Utah Valley.
The alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, killed Kirk by shooting him in the neck from a far distance with a sniper rifle.
Yachty then raps about diamonds in his ear before dropping another bar that’s become heavily contested and debated.
“Way that one boy got popped, we did not sob for him, f*** him,” Yachty raps.
It’s unclear if this bar correlates with the previous bar about Kirk’s assassination, but it hasn’t stopped fans from turning their heads at Yachty’s audacious rhymes.
How Have Fans Reacted To Lil Yachty’s Verse?
Several fans on X praised Lil Yachty for not being afraid to go there.
“The Tyler Robinson bar gave me f****** whiplash,” one user posted. “I was not expecting that from Yachty. It was a cheap-a** bar about getting neck too, that’s wild lmaoo.”
Please take some time to listen to the line Yachty drops,” another user posted. “Wildest bar of the year lmao. You will hear it and your jaw will hit the floor.”
“Congrats to lil yachty for being the first rapper with a Tyler Robinson bar,” another user said.
You can listen to the bar and make a judgement for yourself on your preferred music provider of choice.
