Drake is set to release his ninth studio album, Iceman, later this month. But according to media personality, DJ Akademiks, Drizzy could bless his fans with something even sooner than that.
Akademiks Hints at Drake Dropping Something Today
During a recent stream, the media personality hinted that Drizzy could be dropping something on Tuesday (May 5).
“Tomorrow we collectively drink the tears of Hip Hop media when we see it,” he said in a clip caught by Akademiks TV on X.

However, some fans were skeptical about whether Akademiks’ report was accurate.
“I will personally fly out and sucker punch this n***a if he’s lying,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Others were more optimistic:
“Finally, some food from the GOAT,” another user added.
Yesterday, rumors also began to circulate that Drake could drop a mixtape, Scary Hours 4, before he drops Iceman. It would almost mirror J. Cole’s rollout earlier this year. He dropped a mixtape, Birthday Blizzard 2026, to commemorate his 41st birthday about two weeks before dropping his seventh studio album, The Fall Off.
Drake was also spotted shooting a music video for the upcoming project over the weekend. So it is possible that he could be dropping the first single for Iceman pretty soon.
Iceman will be Drake’s first solo album since 2023, when he dropped his eighth studio album, For All The Dogs. It will also be his first solo project since his 2024 rap feud with Kendrick Lamar. With a lot of people pushing the narrative that Kendrick ended Drake’s career, many fans feel like there is a lot of pressure on the rapper to drop a classic.
Iceman is set to drop on May 15.
