Complex dropped its list of the most powerful voices in hip-hop media. A 35-person list of the most valuable voices covering the genre. Sitting atop that list was DJ Akademiks.
Akademiks Says Joe Budden ‘Can’t F**k With Me’
As part of their power rankings, Akademiks sat down with the outlet to review their rankings. And the hip-hop personality was asked his thoughts on Joe Budden being ranked just underneath him at the number two spot. And while Akademiks showed love to Joe, he believes that outlet was the correct choice.
“I’m thinking about this in voice. Joe has an amazing platform …. but Joe can’t f**k with me. That’s my n***a, but he can’t f**k with me,” Akademiks said.
Akademiks continued to show love to the Joe Budden podcast crew, but also suggested that he has “a lot of voices” on his platform, versus him being the only voice when he gets on stream.
“If I f**k with his podcast, there’s a lot of voices on there. When I’m on stream, it’s me versus a million,” he continued. “And that’s just what it is … Joe, my man, but I think one over two I rock with that.”
