Drake is dropping his highly anticipated ninth studio album, Iceman, on Friday. And even though Drizzy’s new project has not hit the shelves yet, he is already starting to break even more records ahead of its release.
Drake Surpasses Michael Jackson’s Record
Per a Tuesday (May 12), social media post from Chart Data, Drake now stands alone as the artist with the most albums with over 10 years each on the Billboard 200, surpassing pop legend Michael Jackson.
He is also an artist in history to have three albums spend 10 years each on the Billboard 200: Take Care, Nothing Was The Same, and Views.

After Drake captured yet another accolade, users had a lot to say on social media.
“Iceman dropping this Friday. There are a lot more iconic records to set and surpass,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Michael did it with no YouTube, no Spotify, no social media, and no bots,” a second person chimed in.
Drake could soon caption another one of Jackson’s records. If he secures another number-one hit, it would pretty much immortalize him. He would surpass MJ for the most chart-topping singles on the Billboard Hot 100. He has come close on several occasions in the last few months, but still no cigar.
On a 2025 episode of Jadakiss & Fat Joe’s podcast, Joe and Jada, Fat Joe insinuated that the “soul” of the pop icon won’t allow Drizzy to take the crown.
“He’s one number one away from Michael Jackson’s record, and I think the soul of Michael Jackson is fighting that shit cause every time he put out one, you think it’s going to take that joint, just bring it back down,” Joe said.
Iceman is scheduled to drop on May 15.
