Lupe Fiasco has responded to his viral concert controversy in the best possible way, with bars. The Chicago rapper remixed a popular song to explain what happened.
So What Was With Lupe Fiasco During That Concert?
The incident stemmed from Lupe forgetting lyrics to the deep cut “Kick, Push 2.” Lupe used the mistake to call out people who illegally downloaded his breakout album, Food & Liquor.
““You f***** it all up, man,” Lupe Fiasco said. “We supposed to be in stadiums right now. When you was 12 and didn’t have any money, you thought it was cute to go ‘let me just download this album and just f*** his whole career up. So now, you getting upset with me for forgetting words to songs that shouldn’t f***** exist.”
While it seemed clear Lupe was making the comments in jest, fans and media outlets quickly painted the picture of a bitter man who truly believed Limewire is why he isn’t playing stadiums.
So, Lupe responded with bars to explain the situation, calling it click bait.
“What did I tell, a joke/Having lil fun with the crowd/Came up right after I choked/Haven’t done that song in awhile.”
He continued, saying people enjoyed themselves, and that’s all that matters.
“We sold out the show, congrats/Some of the sound was wack/Promoters presented the Plaque/Some blogs presented the cap.”
He then raps that he’s going to be doing stadiums this year, promoting upcoming shows.
However, the song takes a turn, as apparently, Lupe noticed some rappers clowning on him, which he didn’t appreciate.
“Some n***** ain’t doing so great/There’s rappers all down in the comments/In the X and the Insta and face/I’m known for giving out my number/So they can say s*** to my face/But they won’t say s*** to my face/Because they know it isn’t safe.”
Lupe starts the track talking about how he does this at shows and fans know he’s joking.
Lupe Fiasco has a net worth of between 6 and 14 Million dollars.
