Nigerian artist BlaqBonez released his new single Chanel with artist Asake earlier this month. But it had received less support than he had expected.
BlaqBonez Blasts Drake, Gunna, Others Over Lack of Support
In a post to his social media account on Tuesday (May 26), BlaqBonez called out several rap artists. Incliding Central Cee, along with Drake, Future, and Gunna, for not posting his new single.
“I think this industry is very wicked because since I dropped Chanel, none of my peers have posted it,” the artist wrote on social media on Tuesday. “ [Drake] I posted yours last week. [Central Cee, Future, and Gunna] I support you when you drop, but when I put out the biggest song of the summer, it’s crickets, the double standards.”

The post led to a bevy of reactions on social media.
“Very wicked, let’s just say this… We are now loners because people don’t really care for us,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Bro, you’re going wayyy ahead of yourself….none of those niggas you mentioned are in the same category as you….you’re a small fish,” a second user chimed in.
“Stop supporting them. They clearly don’t care about African art, music, or African music artists until it’s time for them to leech off y’all’s sound, a movement or wave,” a third user remarked.
However, even with a lack of support, BlaqBonez’s new single was a huge success. It reached the top spot on Spotify Nigeria and Apple Music in Nigeria and Ghana.
Perhaps the aforementioned artist will consider hopping on the remix.
