It’s been two weeks since Drake dropped his ninth studio album, Iceman. And so far, Jay-Z has remained mum about the shots that Drizzy appeared to take at him. But rap artist, Uncle Murda, doesn’t believe that he’ll stay silent for long.
Uncle Murda Believes Jay-Z Will Respond to Drake
During a recent episode of his and Tony Yayo’s podcast, The Real Report, Murda asserted that he believed Hov would eventually respond. Citing that he’s “too competitive,” to not say anything at all.
“I think Jay gon’ respond to Drake. I could see it, Jay, too competitive… Drake just passed him and all that. And, Drake ain’t been subliminal, he’s been taking them shots kinda direct. I think Jay’s gonna say something,” he said in a clip caught by HotNewHipHop.

Drake takes several shots at Hov on Iceman.
The first instance is on his hit record Janice STFU where he raps: “You boys got big on my name, that’s big enough…we know how you OGs rocking already my n- the jig is up.”
Jigga man is one of Jay-Z’s nicknames.
The second instance is on the album’s third track Whisper My Name. Where he raps: “I’ll take $500K, not the dinner, I never could learn sh*t from none of y’all.”
Appearing to reference the popular social media conversation where users are asked to choose between $500k and dinner with Jay-Z.
Jay-Z is scheduled to headline the Roots Picnic this weekend. And some fans believe this is the perfect opportunity for the rap star to shoot back at Drake.
