Jay-Z’s freestyle during his appearance at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia on Saturday night still has the entire entertainment industry buzzing. Including Los Angeles Lakers superstar, LeBron James.
LeBron Shows Love to Jay-Z’s Freestyle
The NBA All-Star reposted a video of the freestyle to his social media account on Sunday (May 31) and showed love to the Roc Nation boss.

The irony of all of this is that Drake is currently at odds with LeBron. And Drizzy is one of the people whom Jay-Z aimed at in his freestyle.
After Drake called him out on his new record Janice STFU, where he asserts “the jig is up.”
But Hov had an answer for the Toronto native in his new freestyle.
“The jig is up, n**** I’m up 10, wrong chart champ you gotta look up again, n****s looked up to Hov, I never looked up to them,” Jay-Z says.
Jay-Z also appears to reference Drake’s ongoing legal issues with his record label, Universal Music Group. And tells him to keep that same energy when addressing his label.
“Them crackers got your publishing checks, go talk tough to them, don’t talk success to me, you n****s is workers, in perpetuity is how your contract is worded.”
As for why Drake has issues with LeBron, it stems from the Lakers star’s appearance at Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out concert in 2024. When Drake and Kendrick were in the middle of a heated feud. Since then, Drake has distanced himself from the NBA All-Star forward.
