Being in prison is already an undesirable situation. And rap star Tory Lanez claims that his situation is being made even more miserable thanks to the actions of one of the prison guards. So now he is fighting back.
Tory Lanez Demands Restraining Order From Prison Guard
On Monday, June 1, a report from TMZ claims that Lanez has filed a restraining order. Against one of the guards at the California Men’s Colony, where he is currently serving his sentence.
Per court docs obtained by the outlet, the R&B singer claims that he is fearful that one of the guards plans to move him to one of the more dangerous areas of the prison. He claims to have been subjected to “ongoing threats, intimidation, and harassment.” And adds that he is in “fear for his life.”
Lanez was stabbed 14 times during a prison brawl last May. By a 42-year-old man named Santio Casio. Who is serving a life sentence for convictions of second-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder.
In the aftermath of the attack, Lanez filed a $100 million lawsuit against the correctional facility. Claiming that he should have never been in the same unit with a person who is that dangerous.
His representatives also say that the guard has referenced the attack in a “threatening manner.”
Tory also believes that the prison will ultimately retaliate for the lawsuit. And asks that the restraining order be granted immediately. Allowing “no direct contact with him except for ordinary prison functions.”
Lanez is currently locked up for shooting rap star Megan Thee Stallion in the foot during an altercation that occurred after a pool party hosted by reality star Kylie Jenner in 2020. In 2024, the rap star was sentenced to ten years in prison for the assault. Despite being charged with the crime, Tory and many of his contemporaries in the music industry continue to maintain his innocence.
