Boosie Badazz has found himself in yet another unfortunate situation with the law.
According to a Monday (June 1) report from TMZ, the Set It Off creator is facing a felony charge. For allegedly assaulting a nightclub bouncer. The rap star smashed a glass hookah base over his head in an incident at Dome Nightclub in Houston.
Boosie in Hot Water Following Nightclub Incident
According to the Houston Police, the bouncer, named Edward Iglehart, was shutting down the club during closing time. When he got into an exchange with a woman who wanted to use the bathroom. Iglehart claims that during the altercation, the woman elbowed him in the face after he told her she couldn’t use the bathroom because the club was closed. And told her to leave the establishment.
The bouncer says that he knelt down to pick up the woman’s phone and keys that she dropped amid the melee. And while he was on the ground, he felt an “object strike the top of his head,” and began bleeding shortly after. Iglehart says that when he looked up, he saw Boosie holding a broken glass hookah base. Leading him to believe that he smashed the object over his head. He had to get eight staples put in his head as a result.
However, in a statement to the outlet, Boosie’s attorney Carl A. Moore told the outlet that he intends to “vigorously defend” the rapper against those claims.
“We plan to vigorously investigate and defend Mr. Hatch against these allegations — we wish everyone would reserve any judgment and allow this case to play out in court,” he said to the outlet.
“Mr. Hatch was trying to defend his female relative, who was being escorted out of the club by the security guard. He was trying to de-escalate the situation. We’re trying to obtain any surveillance from the club that will show what exactly happened.”
