Young Thug is one of the most prolific and influential rappers of the 2010s. However, his next album could be a whole new direction for the YSL founder.
What Is Going On With Young Thug And His New Album?
In a video posted by TMZ, Young Thug is seen walking around a gym repeating the phrase “R&B album soon.” This follows his 2025 album Uy Scuti, which received mixed reviews, but still charted top 10 on Billboard.
This wouldn’t be new territory for Thug. His 2017 mixtape, Beautiful Thugger Girls, featured elements of R&B, Country, and Dancehall, while hosting features from melodic acts such as Gunna, Jaquees, and Future. Thug himself labeled it a “singing album.”
Thug also released with Slime & B with Chris Brown, which mixed rap and R&B together in a compilation. However, this would be Thug’s first official R&B album, if it comes to fruition.
It’s unclear when it would drop.

What Else Is Going On With Thug?
Thugger has been a messy beef with Rich Home Quan’s team, after he tried to pay homage to him at shows and Instagram.
Many issues have come to light since which give previously unknown information as to why the Rich Gang duo split.
In a social media post in response to Quan’s brother, Rich Homie Dre, Young Thug insinuates that the rapper was going to testify against him in the YSL trial.
“Tell ’em he was about to take the stand on me a week before he died [since] it’s a lie. I still love ’em and wish he were here, though. I know I wouldn’t have walked past him sleeping on the floor,” Young Thug wrote.
Rich Homie Quan died from an accidental drug overdose after taking multiple drugs, including fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine in September 2024.
