Jim Jones Makes Bold Statement About His Catalog
But how does Jim feel about how his catalog stacks up against other New York rappers in a potential Verzuz? In his words, he is in the top 10%.
“I got a better catalog than over 90% of NY rappers in history,” Jones said during a recent appearance on the No Funny S**t podcast. “I got real gold records, more than one of them, like albums and shit. I got platinum singles; some of your favorite rappers don’t have any of that”

Jim’s comments caused a major debate between users on social media.
“Gang activity doesn’t mean you have a great catalog; that’s where he gets things confused,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I understand as a journalist it’s your duty to let the guest speak… but Jim needs to be challenged on this nonsense,” a second user chimed in.
“He’s got 1 platinum single and two gold singles. Am I missing something?” a third user suggested.
Earlier this year, Jim challenged his former Dipset co-star, Cam’ron, to a Verzuz, amid their long-running beef. Cam did not accept the challenge. But he points out some of the flaws with his marketing.
On his Talk With Flee podcast, the former Dipset leader broke it down mathematically. Saying that Jim could make millions from the event if he went the independent route. Between the combinations of ticket sales, streaming costs, and sponsorships. But instead of going the independent route, he is reaching out to Swizz Beatz for assistance, only to get thousands of dollars.
