Rap star Pooh Shiesty (born Lontrell Williams Jr) will have to stay put as he awaits the start of his trial for alleged kidnapping and armed robbery.

Pooh Shiesty Denied Bond Again in Kidnapping Trial

According to Bryson “Boom” Paul, the FDO rapper was denied bond once again on Tuesday (July 21).

In his decision, Judge David C. Godbey referred to Shiesty as a “dangerous person,” and declared: “There is no condition or combination of conditions that would protect the public.”

Back in April, the rap star was accused of armed robbery and kidnapping. The feds accused him of rounding up a group of eight men and leading them on an excursion from Memphis to Dallas to put Gucci Mane under duress. Forcing him into signing a contract releasing him from his record deal with 1017 Brick Squad. Gucci believed they were having a business meeting, but instead was met with the ambush.

Video evidence of the alleged armed robbery recently surfaced online.

In the video, a person who looks to be Gucci Mane tries to leave the confrontation. Before one of the assailants flashes a Draco-style firearm. Shiesty then makes Gucci Mane say on camera that he is releasing Shiesty from his deal with his record label, 1017 Brick Squad. Consistent with the charges that he is facing.

However, Shiesty’s ex-lawyer, Bradford Cohen, doesn’t believe that the video evidence paints the full picture.

“I think it’s pretty nasty work that there are leaks coming from the U.S. Attorney’s office in Texas,” he said. “On evidence that they feel will benefit their case. Of course, they’re not leaking evidence that will not benefit their case; that’s the first part of that.”

If convicted, Shiesty could spend the rest of his life in prison.
