The long-rumored Snoop Dogg biopic now has a release date. First reported by Deadline, more details have emerged about the picture.
Who Is Starring In The Snoop Dogg Biopic?
The biopic comes from Universal Pictures, who have went on a streak of financial successes with Michael, Straight Outta Compton, and others.
They’ve tagged Director Craig Brewer, known for his music-centric stories including Song Sung Blue, Katy Perry: Part Of Me, Hustle & Flow, and the Footloose remake. Snoop Dogg will serve as an executive producer, teasing at Cinemacon that the film will for sure nab an R rating, encouraging kids to get their parents’ permission.
“After my brothers got to tell their story with Straight Outta Compton, now it’s my turn,” Snoop said.
As for who’s portraying the Boss Dogg, it’s another Outer Banks veteran in Jonathon Daviss. The show has helped kickstart the careers of Drew Starkey (Queer), Rudy Pankow (Reminders Of Him), Chase Stokes (Marked Men: Rule+Law), and breakout star Madelyn Cline (Glass Onion).
Now, Daviss will get his turn for a big role when he portrays a young Snoop Dogg during the early 90s, through his linkup with Dr. Dre to the release of Doggystyle.
Of course, the big question is: how will the film handle Snoop Dogg’s murder case?
We’ll have to wait a year to find out.

What Else Is He Up To?
His cousin Daz Dillinger has been going scorched earth after a major fallout between the two family members.
In a short video, Dillinger went nuclear on Snoop, after his wife Shante Broadus allegedly jumped into the beef, accusing Dillinger of being an absentee dad. Dillinger used this opportunity to drop a bombshell allegation.
“This goes out to the Boss Lady, you say I got 30 kids, well your husband got more kids than I got that chu don’t even know about,” Dillinger said. “Two kids from …., two more kids overseas. You don’t want that, go worry about your household.”
This would be quite a shock for the family man Snoop, as previously he’s only had four known children. Three with his wife, and one from a previous relationship with his ex Laurie Halmond.
if true, it would possibly shatter the image Snoop has pushed for years as the Doggfather, family man, and always there for his kids.
In an interview on The Today Show in 2015, he said his kids were his number one priority.
“”My relationship with my kids is more important than anything. It’s a friendship relationship … it’s based on me being a father, a mentor and a friend.”
Daz Dillinger is Snoop Dogg’s cousin. These are just allegations levied by Dillinger and no proof has come forward.
