Boxing star Claressa Shields claims that she is not familiar with much of Remy Ma’s music.
Shields Claims That She Doesn’t Know Remy Ma’s Music
Shields appeared on the Ariel Helwani show. As she tests the waters on a potential music career, Helwani put her on the spot. Requesting that she kick a freestyle live on the program.
After she spit her freestyle, Helwani sarcastically put her in the ranks of some of the top femcees. Telling the likes of Lil Kim and Foxy Brown to “move out the way.” Helwani then acknowledged that Kim and Fox were “old school” femcees.
That’s when Shields went on to pay homage to Kim, Foxy, and Eve. As well as newer artists such as Cardi B, Glorilla, Megan The Stallion, and Latto. That’s when Helwani asked her if she was a fan of Remy Ma. Shield replied by stating that she has not really listened to any of Remy Ma’s music.

Of course, the clip went viral, and fans on social media had a lot to say about the boxing star’s claim.
“Copying her hairstyle and mess but you don’t know her music smh,” one fan wrote in the comments section of the social media post.
“If she was up on the KIM, FOXY BROWN & EVE era she DEFINITELY know IM CONCEITED,” a second user chimed in.
“Why is she always tryna do what everyone else is doing? Her lane is boxing; she should stay there,” a third user remarked.
Of course, Shields is currently dating Remy Ma’s estranged husband Papoose. Which could have been why she gave that answer.
