Welp, it looks like Donell Jones was telling the truth. On Tuesday night, Complex announced the R&B superstar will face off with fellow legend Joe for Verzuz on August 20th.
Jones said this exactly in an interview with Blake’s Arena.
However, when other pages reported the news, Complex denied it, saying “Y’all know something we don’t???”
Apparently, that was just a smokescreen, as Complex is now promoting the event.
Fans were disappointed with Complex’s initial stance, but it looks like they’ll get their dream matchup after all.
Fans of According2HipHop were excited about the prospect of the two legends facing off.
“I got Joe. Donnell 2nd whole album (Where I Wanna Be) is a classic, and he has bangers, but Joe got BANGERS. I know we always root for the underdogs, but Joe can pull out solo, features, written joints, and backgrounds in his catalog,” Tristan Knight posted.
