Chris Brown has responded after Lionel Richie made a joke referencing Brown and Usher during a recent performance in Arizona.
While speaking to the crowd, Richie compared Brown and Usher’s current co-headlining “R&B Tour” to the days when The Commodores toured alongside Earth, Wind & Fire.
“Usher and Chris Brown… See, they try to do something new. The Commodores with Earth, Wind & Fire, we were doing that back 40 years ago!” Richie said before adding, “Only difference is, between then and now, we didn’t go to jail!”
The crowd laughed before Richie jokingly followed up, “I’m sorry, we’re fine Christian men,” and continued with his performance.
After video of the moment began circulating online, Brown jumped into the comments with a playful response of his own.
“Damn, unk. We love ya paw paw,” Brown wrote.
Brown’s reaction appeared to show that he took Richie’s joke in stride as the clip continued to make its rounds on social media.
