Jay-Z is having an incredible year. 2026 has been a year of wins for the legendary rapper, and it appears one of the biggest black clouds hovering over him has been lifted.
A Jane Doe who accused Diddy and JAY-Z of sexually assaulting her.
However, the Jane Doe was dropped from Roc Nation’s lawsuit against Tony Buzbee after recanting her allegations in court.
“Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter never raped me. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever,” Jane Doe stated. “There is no truth to any of my claims against Mr. Carter. I understand my false accusations have caused Mr. Carter immense pain, suffering, and damage that can never be fully undone.”
Doe’s new attorney, James Blair Newman, Jr., said that she’s a victim of sexual assault, but it was not JAY-Z who did it.
“Mr. Carter did not rape her, sexually assault her, engage in any inappropriate conduct towards her, and she has never met him. She sincerely and unconditionally apologizes to Mr. Carter and his family,” the statement reads.
Doe also stated in her declaration that she wasn’t promised any compensation, nor did she receive any.

Jane Doe Explains The JAY-Z Accusations
Elsewhere in the statement, she explained what sparked the misidentity.
Doe said an ad looking for accusers against Diddy caught her eye in 2024. She said that the October 2024 lawsuit against Diddy was filed without her knowledge or her lawyers “conducting any independent investigation, background inquiry, or due diligence.”
“In January 2025, I began to doubt my claims against Mr. Carter,” Doe wrote. “I also began doubting that I ever went to a party with celebrities.”
She claims she was given $1,200 by her lawyers to do an interview with NBC News, where she took a polygraph test. She said she never received the results.
Buzbee retorted, saying the money was “petty cash” to cover meals and travel expenses.
