R&B singer Jacquees has been released on bond after an arrest for DUI and battery.
According to WSVN News, a local station in South Florida, claims Jacquees was found passed out behind the wheel of his car. When he couldn’t be woken immediately, first responders and EMTs came on the scene, broke the passenger window of his car, which he reportedly woke up and became combative, leading to his arrest. A cop hit him in the face, causing a laceration.
After getting out, he was asked what happened.
“It’s AI,” Jacquees said. “I’ll be in court and they’ll drop all of them. The police pulled up, they said I was sleeping at the light. I asked them ‘why didn’t you just advise me to go to the crib, my house is across the street. And I didn’t want them to lock me up, so they started putting their hands on me. What’s resisting like saying, like, ‘Man, don’t lock me up.’ Oh, yeah. I definitely told them don’t lock me up. Not physically. [the charges] are false.”
This isn’t Jacquees’ first time in trouble with the law.
He was arrested twice in 2018, once during a traffic stop in Miami and the other for speeding in Atlanta.
In 2023, he was accused of choking and biting a woman near a Georgia mall. He was charged with simple battery and obstruction before settling on bond.
