The breakup handwritten letter to Madonna written by Tupac Shakur in 1995 can officially be auctioned off after Madonna lost her bid to reclaim the letter.
According to a from the New York Daily News, a Manhattan Supreme Court Judge ruled on Monday that Madonna’s personal items can be sold at auction. The Madonna had sued her former friend Darlene Lutz and the Gotta Have It! online auction house in July to prevent them from profiting off of her letters, cassette tapes, pictures and more.
Judge Gerald Lebovitz ruled that under a 2004 agreement Madonna made with Lutz, the singer forfeited her rights to the items.
“[Madonna] knew that throughout her relationship with Lutz, Lutz was in possession of various pieces of [Madonna’s] personal property,” Judge Lebovitz stated in his decision.
