As many Hip-Hop fans know many rappers state their claims as to being the greatest. Only a few are actually worthy of such a title. 18 years ago in the year 2000 Hip-Hop icon LL Cool J not only made that claim but named his album “G.O.A.T” simply greatest of all-time.
Was this album some of LL’s greatest work? Not really but the name lived on and carried not only through music but sports as well.
According to Merriam-Webster.com. The Springfield-based company on September 5th announced that it added more than 800 new words and meanings to its online database, a range of terms that were included based on their frequent use and shared understanding. The term G.O.A.T was among them and we have LL Cool J to thank for that addition.
Folks, it's that time again.
