Kanye West has stepped up in a tremendous way by gifting $150,000 to Jemel Roberson’s family, a security guard who was killed by Midlothian police after subduing a bar patron with a gun.

Roberson was working night security at Manny’s Blue Room Bar where eventually, several drunk patrons were ordered to leave. One of those customers returned to the bar a short time later with a gun and opened fire. Roberson returned fire, subdued the gunman and held him at gunpoint until police arrived but ended up shot himself by the arriving officer and died.
According to TMZ, Roberson was working extra shifts at the bar in order to provide Christmas gifts for his son.
