One of the men injured during the shooting at Nipsey Hussle’s store Marathon Clothing has been arrested for associating with the late rapper, TMZ reports. Kerry Lathan was shot in the back outside the store and treated at a hospital.
Lathan is the 56-year-old was out on parole after serving a 20-year sentence for murder. One of the typical limitations of parole is not mingling with known gang members. Five days after the shooting, Lathan was taken into custody at his halfway house for associating with Nipsey, who the police allege was a member of the Rollin 60’s Crips.
Lathan is being held at a jail in downtown Los Angeles where he will remain until authorities try to deny his parole. Due to the shooting, Lathan is now in a wheelchair and can’t walk.
Nipsey was reportedly paying a visit to his clothing shop to pick up some new clothes for a friend who was recently released from prison. TMZ reports that friend was Lathan.
