It’s no secret that Kendrick Lamar is the leader of the new school. His messages in his music are as timely as they are timeless. Over the past few years Kendrick Lamar has become the voice of a generation. Sure Drake does numbers but when it comes to actually speaking on the plight and the mindset of today’s youth and how they feel socially and politically Kendrick is your guy.
So much so that his is inspiring young artist to paint paintings of his likeness. According to XXL Colorado Congressman Scott Tipton unveiled Tiona Cordova of Pueblo, Colo.’s Centennial High School student as the winner of the 2017 Congressional Art Competition. Her winning piece of art was a painting of Kendrick Lamar himself.
As her prize, Tiona will be recognized in a Washington, D.C. awards ceremony and her Kendrick painting will hang in the U.S. Capitol for one year. Checkout the dope piece.
