A$AP Rocky sat down for an interview with VIBE. And broke his silence about the shooting that occurred at his and Rihanna’s home earlier this year.
ASAP Rocky Breaks Silence About Shooting at His Home
In the aftermath of the shooting, Rocky says that the worst part was how it robbed him and his family of their “peace.”
“It took away a lot of peace and happiness of being able to just be free. I don’t want to be robbed of my peace and joy,” the rapper said to the outlet.
“It was f****d up. Somebody attempted to harm my family and me.”
A woman named Ivanna Lisette Ortiz was arrested. After allegedly firing a flurry of gunfire at Rihanna’s and Rocky’s Los Angeles home back in March. According to the LAPD, Ortiz allegedly fired between seven and ten rounds from an AR-15-style rifle while inside a white Tesla parked across the street from the property.
Rihanna and their kids were home during the time of the shooting. Thankfully, no injuries occurred in the Melee.
Family is the most important thing to Rocky these days. He is officially in his dad era as a father of three. When asked if he had gotten “used to” the feeling of having a child, the rapper said that there is a lot of uncertainty the first go around. And although you might think he would be more equipped the second and third times, he said all of the experiences were “similar.”
“It was just so exciting because you just don’t know what to prepare for,” he said. “You don’t know what’s to come, so the second and third times were really similar to the first experience. We were laughing while she was in labor, literally laughing and cracking jokes and s**t.”
