A$AP Rocky Teases New Song From Upcoming ‘Don’t Be Dumb’ Album

This has been a year to remember for A$AP Rocky. One of his bigger accomplishments will be when he returns to the big screen this summer. He will be one of the main characters in the upcoming Spike Lee Film, Highest 2 Lowest.

Rocky and his baby momma, Rihanna, are currently overseas at the Cannes Film Festival, where the film is being premiered. However, the “Fashion Killa” creator is proving he is a true jack of all trades.

A$AP Rocky Drops Two Snippets Off ‘Don’t Be Dumb’

During an after-party at the film festival hosted by Ray Ban, the DJ shocked everyone. He played a snippet of an unheard song from Rocky’s upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb.

When asked about the album previously, Rocky said he was in the final stages of releasing it, but swore to remain mum about any updates. Because he knows that his fans are growing impatient.

“I’m in the mixing and mastering realm of it, but I think quite frankly, people are tired of hearing about updates about the album,” he said in an interview with GQ in February.

“They’re just ready to get this shit, you know what I’m saying? I don’t think anybody wants to hear where I’m at with it, how far is it’s along and all that. They just want to hear some s**t to see where I’m at, and I promise I’ve got some new s*** in store. I’m challenging myself. It’s like anything, I approach it with a different tactic, degree, or finesse.”

A$AP Reveals Denzel’s Music Taste

Highest 2 Lowest is truly a crossover film. As A$AP Rocky will stand opposite film legend Denzel Washington. So obviously, Rocky and Denzel got to spend some time together on the set. In a recent interview with The Run Through With Vogue, Rocky revealed that Denzel has an interesting taste in hip-hop music.

“Denzel would pull up to the movie set playing Pooh Shiesty and Moneybagg Yo, swear to God. Can’t make this up,” Rocky said.

“He likes to listen to Memphis rappers, but modern Memphis rappers. Then he started quoting NLE Choppa. I’m like, ‘You know NLE Choppa?!’ He likes, ‘I don’t do drive-bys now, walk ’em down.’ I’m like, ‘Yo, Denzel, chill!’ It was crazy, he’s really tapped in, man.”

Highest 2 Lowest is set to hit theaters on August 22.
