The release of his new album, Don’t Be Dumb, has been delayed several times. But on Easter Sunday, fans got perhaps the most concrete update, that confirms an album is actually in the works.
A$AP Rocky Teases Snippet From New Album
Rocky released a snippet from a new song that is on the project on April 20. In the snippet shared to his Instagram account, the Harlem native dons a bunny costume, while surrounded with actual rabbits.
“See you still with them steppers, tell them to step it up/How you always come up short? You ain’t sell enough/If I pull my b***h out, I’ma dress her up/If I pull that [click-clack] out, I’ma mess it up,” he raps in the snippet.
Rocky’s latest project was scheduled to be released in August 2024. However, it was delayed several times. Due in large part to his gun assault trial after he was accused of firing a firearm at his former friend and bandmate A$AP Rellie.
But after being acquitted in February, A$AP isn’t wasting any time getting back to doing what he loves. When asked about the album, Rocky said he was in the final stages of releasing it, but swore to remain mum about any updates. Because he knows that his fans are growing impatient.
“I’m in the mixing and mastering realm of it, but I think quite frankly, people are tired of hearing about updates about the album,” he said in an interview with GQ in February.
“They’re just ready to get this shit, you know what I’m saying? I don’t think anybody wants to hear where I’m at with it, how far is it along and all that. They just want to hear some s**t just to see where I’m at, and I promise I got some new s*** in store. I’m challenging myself. It’s like anything, I approach it with a different tactic, degree or finesse.”
