The estate of Tupac Shakur just settled a five-year-old lawsuit with Death Row Records over royalties owed to the late Hip-Hop legend and now the word is at least 2 new Tupac albums will soon be released.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Tupac’s estate filed documents this week stating the two sides have agreed to settle the suit. Pac’s now-deceased mother, Afeni Shakur, had previously filed the case against Entertainment One, which bought Death Row a few years back, and claimed they were owed over a million dollars.
Sources close to the deal tell The Blast a cash settlement was made that will go to Tupac’s estate, but the estate will also be getting a ton of unreleased recordings the late rapper made.
It is being said that there are enough master recordings for at least 2, and possibly 3 new albums. As of now there is not a date set for when they will drop, but it is being said the plan is to start cranking them out ASAP.
As for the money made from the albums, aside from Tupac’s beneficiaries, like his sister, there will also be large contributions made to charities that meant a lot to both Tupac and his mother.
