The chances of Keefe D squirming his way out of being held responsible for the murder of Tupac is getting slimmer and slimmer. This week, a federal judge delivered a ruling that has his defense team scrambling.
What Is The Ruling About Keefe D?
After losing the decision to keep his memoir, which discussed the murder of Tupac, out of evidence, Keefe D’s defense team tried to get police interviews back in 2008 omitted as well.
Allegedly, Keefe D told police in the interview that he and his crew pulled up on Shakur, and his nephew, Orlando Anderson, “popped them.” Anderson denied involvement in Shakur’s killing at the time. He died two years later in an unrelated gang shooting.
Keefe D says he only talked to the police for fear of his family’s safety, and asserts those comments should have been stricken from the record due to detectives assuring him confidentiality.
However, in 2019, Keefe D wrote a memoir, Compton Street Legend, which detailed orchestrating the murder of Shakur. While the former gang higher up says the book was exaggerated and had elements of fantasy, therefore not being the full truth, prosecutors say because he wrote the book, he violated his agreement with the LAPD, and is therefore free game in trial.
The trial is set to begin August 10th and prosecutors now have free reign to use any of Keefe D’s past statements or writings as evidence.

The Accused Killer’s Defense
Since his incarceration in 2023, he has plead not guilty and maintains that he is innocent. In fact, his defense team argues his memoir was pure fiction and should not be used at all. There are longstanding rumors that Keefe D bragged about being the mastermind behind Pac’s death while serving time in prison, and reportedly there’s tapes to prove it. However, those reports are unconfirmed, but if they exist, the prosecution will have the green light to use them.
