The beef between rap stars Drake and Kendrick Lamar has extended way past 2024, when it first started. Drake appeared to ignite a round two with the Compton rapper on his new album, Iceman.
Akademiks Claims Kendrick Had Cops Post Outside of Drake’s Home
Drake appeared to shoot at Kendrick on one of the Iceman tracks titled, National Treasure. And accused him of having Toronto police stationed outside of his home in Toronto, when Kendrick’s Grand National Tour hit Drake’s hometown back in 2025.
“Boy gotta dip out the 6ix, run out the 6ix, just like you did / Why was TPS at my crib until you boys slid? It is what it is,” Drake raps on the song.

Kendrick was declared the winner in his and Drake’s 2024 feud. So he was declared the top guy in hip-hop. But many believe that Dot’s victory really has not helped the genre as a whole. Before Drake dropped Iceman it had been nearly a year since a rap song had cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ironically, the last song to appear in the top 10 was Drake’s July 2025 hit, What Did I Miss.
And after his recent drop, many people believe that Drake has officially reclaimed the throne.
