The ongoing feud between Akademiks and Lil Baby was reignited after an upcoming track surfaced.
Akademiks Clowns Lil Baby Over New Track
Lil Baby debuted a new song titled Dead Fresh, produced by Pharrell Williams. At the Louis Vuitton SS27 fashion show on Tuesday (June 24). And Akademiks did not appear to be feeling the new single. And insisted that Lil Baby can’t deliver another hit due to his frayed relationship with rap star Gunna. Who Akademiks believes wrote a lot of Lil Baby’s old hits.

Gunna and Lil Baby have collaborated on several chart-topping hits. Such as Drip Too Hard, Business is Business, and Never Recover. However, despite their longstanding relationship, in an interview with radio personality Charlemagne Tha God in December 2024, the rap star confirmed that he currently has “no relationship” with Gunna. Despite them collaborating on several projects in the past.
Many have speculated that Lil Baby’s issues with Gunna are derived from his accepting a plea deal in the high-profile YSL RICO trial and his close relationship with rap star Young Thug.
As for why Akademiks and Lil Baby are beefing, that stemmed from an incident in Miami back in January. After the media personality claimed that one of the rap star’s associates slapped him.
Ever since then, Akademiks vowed not to take his foot off the gas concerning his feud with the Atlanta rap star.
At the time of writing, Lil Baby has not responded to Akademiks’ comments.
