YBN, short for Young Boss N***s, appeared to be on their way to superstardom. Songs such as YBN Nahmir’s “Rubbin Off the Paint”, YBN Almighty Jay’s “Chopsticks,” and YBN Walker’s “Gutta” made them one of the most well-known groups in the music industry at the time.
Almighty Jay Sounds Off About Nahmir
However, their reign on top was short-lived. The group officially disbanded in August 2020. During a recent stream, one of the group’s founding members, Almighty Jay, revealed how YBN Nahmir’s behavior ultimately led to the group splitting up.
“Nahmir joined a gang. Nahmir moved to LA and joined a gang. And it went from being a business to a f*****g gang banging fest. And I didn’t want to be around that shit,” Jay said.
The interviewer then asked Almighty Jay if being around Nahmir and the gang lifestyle made him scared. To which he replied:
“I wasn’t scared; I just didn’t want to be around gang members. I liked h**s and money”
Almighty Jay says the reason he and YBN Nahmir fell off is that Nahmir moved to LA and joined a gang:

During a recent sit-down with YouTuber, Peaks100, another former YBN Member, Cordae, spoke out about the group’s falling out. He cited that there were a “number of reasons” why the group split up. However, when talking about YBN’s split, Cordae made it sound more like an expectation than a surprise.
“It was a number of reasons, bro,” Cordae said of the group’s split. “Name one group that stayed together. Not even the Jackson 5, and them n***as were brothers.”
He also cited that disagreements on the “business side” made things even more complicated between them.
“The business side of it was kind of like, super f*cked up, honestly,” Cordae continued. “N****s got into a big argument in Europe. People say certain things they can’t take back. It’s still love, but it’s just some shit that you can’t take.”
However, despite things ending on a bad note, Cordae says he still has love for Jay and Nahmir.
“Nahmir, that’s still my homie,” he said. “Jay, I still fuck with bro. Nahmir threw n****s that [alley] oop so I’m very grateful.”
