Pop star Nicki Minaj has been the subject of a lot of backlash due to her growing support for United States President Donald Trump. Thankfully for the Starships creator, an unlikely ally has come to her defense — reality star Amber Rose.
Amber Rose Comes to Nicki Minaj’s Defense Over Trump Support
Minaj went viral on Wednesday (January 28) when she spoke at the Trump Accounts Summit. After she was introduced by the United States President, she declared herself to be Trump’s number one fan.
“I am probably the president’s number one fan. That’s not going to change,” she said after she was introduced.
Nicki Minaj: I am probably the president's number one fan. That's not going to change. And the hate or what people have to say does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. We won't let them get away with bullying him. God is protecting him. pic.twitter.com/872R9Lzo0C

After Minaj became the subject of controversy for what seems like the one thousandth time over the past several weeks, Amber Rose came to the rapper’s defense. She posted a clip of the interaction between Trump and Minaj on her social media story. Referring to the exchange as “iconic.”

However, Amber’s post didn’t seem to strengthen Minaj’s cause. At least amongst fans. Instead, they both received harsh criticism.
“Two birds telling each other exactly,” one user wrote in the comments section of the Instagram post.
“Amber hasn’t been the same since 80-year-old Cher took her man,” a second user chimed in.
“Nobody cares,” a third user chimed in.
Minaj appears to be aware of the backlash she has received as a result of her alignment with MAGA country. But she also doesn’t seem phased by it. In fact, during her segment at the summit, she says it makes her want to be even more supportive of the president.
“And the hate or what people have to say does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. We won’t let them get away with bullying him. God is protecting him,” she said.
