Ari Lennox has reportedly parted ways with Dreamville Records following public frustrations with the label. After nearly 10 years under J. Cole’s label, the ‘Shea Butter Baby’ crooner will now release music exclusively through Interscope.

Earlier this year, Ari performed at the final Dreamville Festival and showed her appreciation to the team for giving her a chance back in 2015.
“Thank you for making my dreams a reality,” she said on stage.
Ari Lennox Requested A Release Last Year
The sendoff followed her heated October 2024 outburst, where she demanded an exit from the label.
“I’m so tired. Where do I fucking start? My heart’s beating so fast,” she began her rant on social media. “I don’t know what else to do. I try to do things the right way and no one takes me seriously. And so we’re here on social media. Again. I’m trying to be respectful but I feel played right now.”
She added: “I just wish I had a label that cared, that would wanna protect me. I wish I had a label that wouldn’t have me out here trying to explain why I need advertisement […] So I just wanna be released.”
Despite the public frustration, sources close to the situation say the split was “friendly and drama-free,” with “no bad blood” between Lennox and the Dreamville team.
Now, Ari is embracing a new direction with the release of her latest single, “Soft Girl Era.”
