Ye, formerly known as rap star Kanye West, is used to saying whatever he wants without fear of consequence. But prosecutors in São Paola, Brazil, are making sure that won’t be the case. When he visits their city, ahead of his upcoming concert.
Arrest Order Issued For Kanye West Ahead of Brazil Concert
Over the past several months, West has aligned himself with Nazism and antisemitism. He even debuted a song called Heil Hitler, which is a salute to the late Nazi leader. Prosecutors have made it clear that if he performs the song, or “if he sings a song or makes any apology for Nazism,” he and his team will be apprehended promptly.
The order reportedly also includes the concert’s producers, Guilherme Cavalcante and Jean Fabrício Ramos, also known as Faublous Fabz. If the producers do not stop any of the prohibited acts and allow the show to go on, they could also be in legal trouble.
Ye’s concert is set to take place on November 29 at the Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo.
São Paulo has a very large Jewish community, with approximately 60,000 people. And their community represents about half of Brazil’s total Jewish population, which is estimated to be around 120,000 to 130,000 people.
And one group Ye has been particularly critical of over the past few months is the Jewish community.
However, Ye appears to be looking to make amends with the community. The hitmaker recently met with Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto. And apologized for his past behaviour.
“I was dealing with various issues […] this is the first step, brick by brick, to building back strong walls,” he says in the video.
However, after the video was posted, many fans presumed this to be just Ye’s latest social media stunt. And didn’t believe that his recent meeting with the Rabbi was sincere. Only time will tell if the rap star’s impressions are pure.
