Atlanta’s J.I.D is showing people that once again emcees from his city have BARS. J.I.D rhymes with rapid syllables, not always giving your brain time to catches up to everything he’s spittin, making some trenchant personal insights.
J.I.D is following up last year’s album The Never Story with the new full-length project DiCaprio 2. Before his death the late Mac Miller was helping J.I.D put the album together, and J.I.D was also slated to open Mac Miller’s fall tour.
The album features 6LACK, Ella Mai, J. Cole, A$AP Ferg, Method Man, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Joey Bada$$. Christo produced the bulk of the album, but people like Mac Miller, Kenny Beats, and WondaGurl also contributed production.
