Ola Runt has reportedly been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison after authorities say he disappeared from a halfway house for 30 days, resulting in an “escape” charge.
According to prosecutors, the Atlanta rapper failed to report back to the halfway house as required, prompting federal officials to classify the situation as an escape from custody. The violation ultimately led to additional legal consequences in court.
A judge has now ordered Ola Runt to serve an 18-month sentence, which will run consecutively with the remainder of the time he already had left to serve. Court documents also reveal that he will not receive any additional supervised release once the sentence is completed.
In addition to the prison term, the court imposed a $100 special assessment. The judge also recommended that Ola Runt be placed at a federal facility near Atlanta where he can have access to educational opportunities, counseling, and treatment programs while serving his time.
