The Griselda rapper took to social media earlier this week to unveil the 7-track project, announcing that it will be available on Friday (May 2).
“Some of us jumped off the porch early and understood the game instantly. Some of us took a lil time,” Benny wrote in the caption.
“But some needed their hand held in every aspect and was only good at riding coattails. Then u got people like me… The Chosen Few,” he added.
The album boasts contributions from a talented lineup of producers, including Daringer, Harlem Zone, Harry Fraud, Moose Tarantino, and Nyckles.
Moreover, the project will feature a strong roster of guest vocalists. Boldy James, Fuego Base, Premo, Skylar Blatt, Styles P, and Sule are all set to lend their voices, rounding out the supporting cast with dynamic collaborations.
Benny the Butcher Shows Fans What to Expect with New Single
To give listeners a preview of what’s in store, Benny the Butcher released “Duffel Bag Hottie’s Revenge” featuring Boldy James. Together, the duo sound dependably tough as they trade unapologetic rhymes over a luxuriant horn loop crafted by producer Nunchuk.
Benny also unveiled a cinematic music video to accompany the release courtesy of Prolific Kid Films. The visual captures striking landmarks throughout New York City as the pair rap inside the city’s subway system.
Excelsior is Benny the Butcher’s first solo project of the year and is already shaping up to defy fans’ expectations.
