Bhad Bhabie is getting her flowers — and not just for her music. The 22-year-old rapper was recently honored by Providence, Rhode Island, with a citation recognizing her “impact on the culture and her hip-hop artistry.”

The recognition came after she performed in the city, where she was presented the honor by City Councilman John Goncalves. In a post on Instagram, Goncalves explained the decision, framing it as part of the city’s effort to celebrate 50 local creatives this June, from musicians and DJs to rappers and poets, all contributing to the culture. “As the Creative Capital, we’re highlighting those making waves, no matter the genre,” Goncalves wrote.
It’s a full-circle moment for Bhad Bhabie, who first made a name for herself in 2016 as rebellious teen Danielle Bregoli on Dr. Phil. But nine years later, she’s proven that she’s no one-hit wonder. Tracks like “Hi Bich” and “Gucci Flip Flops” earned Bhad Bhabie platinum certifications, while her 2023 hit “Ms. Whitman” pushed her to new heights as her highest-charting single.
The track, a diss aimed at Alabama Barker (daughter of Blink-182’s Travis Barker), stirred up drama after Bhad Bhabie accused Alabama of trying to make a move on her boyfriend, Le Vaughn, with whom she shares a child born in March 2024. The beef was quickly squashed when Barker shut down the rumors, but the controversy only helped Bhad Bhabie keep her name buzzing.
From reality TV to platinum plaques to headline-grabbing diss tracks, Bhad Bhabie is proving she’s more than a viral moment. The Providence honor is just the latest reminder that she’s a real force in the game — and she’s here to stay.
