Big Sean and Usher are giving back to the city that helped shape them in a major way. The two artists have partnered to donate $1 million toward the creation of the Detroit Entertainment Innovation Incubator at the newly built Michigan Central Boys & Girls Club.

Both artists spoke about their deep ties to Detroit and their desire to create long-term opportunities for the city’s youth. The investment is being made through Usher’s Usher’s New Look (UNL) and Big Sean’s Sean Anderson Foundation (SAF), with additional support from partners including Ilitch Sports + Entertainment and Emory University Goizueta Business School.

The Detroit Entertainment Innovation Incubator is designed to provide hands-on access to the future of entertainment and media. The space will feature a virtual production studio, a special effects lab, and a creator’s lounge—giving young creatives the tools, mentorship, and resources needed to explore careers in entertainment, technology, and digital storytelling.

With this initiative, Big Sean and Usher are not only honoring Detroit’s cultural legacy but also investing in the next generation of innovators poised to shape its future.
