The trial of disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs centered on the erratic behavior of the Bad Boy Records founder. But it also gave us some pretty interesting side stories. And now that the trial is over, some of the people who were at one point connected to Combs are more comfortable speaking out.
T.D. Jakes Breaks His Silence About Rumors Linking Him to Diddy
Pastor T.D. Jakes of the Potter’s House megachurch in Dallas, Texas, is the latest to speak out in hopes of clearing his name.
At the beginning of the feds’ investigation into Diddy, rumors began to spread, linking the megachurch pastor to the music mogul and accusing him of being a participant in Diddy’s freakoffs. However, in a recent sit-down with Hollywood Unlocked, Pastor Jakes hit back at those rumors.
He says that 44,000 internet bots spread the misinformation.
“When the [rumors] first broke out, it was 44,000 bots that were released on me,” Jakes said. He also noted that after a thorough investigation, his team “discovered that 98% of them were all artificial intelligence-generated.”
He also implored people to verify their sources of information before listening to a narrative and running with it.
“The other thing that it really proved to me, to Oprah, to Denzel, to all the people, is that it’s everybody. It goes along with the turf,” he said. “We have got to stop getting our information from TikTok,” he said.
Jake doubled down on his innocence and brushed off the baseless claims. He also noted that if there was any validity to those rumors, the FBI would have been involved.
“That’s kinda water under the bridge. If there were anything there, the FBI would have been in it,” he added. “It’s like when I had my health scare—within seconds, it was all over the world, you wouldn’t have to find it on Instagram, you wouldn’t have to find it on YouTube. You would find it on the 6 o’clock news.”
