The Brooklyn rapper made the announcement on Tuesday (May 6), delivering the news directly to fans via Instagram. While he owned up to the decision, saying he takes “full responsibility,” Shmurda also called out two key figures he claims played a role in the tour’s downfall.
In his post, Shmurda pointed fingers at Philip Stengel, a booking agent with Halo Touring, and Sergio Patillo, founder of Oakstreet Media. According to the rapper, lapses in tour management and communication derailed the 19-city run.
“Let this be a life lesson to all business owners and affiliate,” said Shmurda. “Don’t leave nothing in no one hands don’t matter how much you gotta work. Nobody’s gonna treat your work like it’s you except if you got a top pause, done expert, but that happens once in a blue moon because you have money does not make you a boss.”
Shmurda backed up his frustration by sharing screenshots of a fiery group chat between him, Stengel, and Patillo (listed as “Gwop”). The messages show tensions flaring over marketing efforts—or lack thereof. While Patillo seemed to try and cool things down, Stengel responded with aggression.
“Hey b—ch lmk if you need the book mailing address to sue me,” the agent wrote. “And anytime we can run the f—ing fade ain’t no b—ch here you ain’t gonna talk to me like you have been.”
Stengel later clapped back on his own IG, claiming the real reason for the cancellation was simple: low ticket sales.
“If 10 people are buying tickets, there’s no show. Period,” he stated. “This post was a distraction. The facts are the facts.”
The Still Alive Tour was scheduled to hit major cities like Washington, L.A., Houston, and Boston starting next week. But with this tour now shelved, fans will have to wait and see what Bobby Shmurda’s next move will be.
