Of course, users on social media had a lot to say about Shmurda’s comments.
“Where is your music, except for on track, where you snitch on everyone? You mad J didn’t mention you! You’re a joke!” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“He’s trying to get attention by talking shit about Jay-Z. People always want to hit at the top when they are bottom feeders,” a second user chimed in.
“N***a went to prison, came back, and dropped music that was complete garbage and is mad at other people lol,” a third user remarked.
Jay-Z’s freestyle at the Roots Picnic went viral. After he appeared to address several of his critics on stage in Philadelphia. Among the people he addressed were Drake, Nicki Minaj, Dame Dash, and even Tory Lanez and his father.
The rapper is set to hit the stage at least three more times this summer. He will host three sold-out nights at Yankee Stadium to commemorate the releases of two of his most iconic albums — Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint.
After already having one viral moment in Philadelphia, it will be interesting to see what happens when he performs in his hometown.
