It’s officially Madden season. On Wednesday, EA Sports announced who would be the cover athlete for their flagship video game. And it is none other than Chicago Bears star QB Caleb Williams. It all made too much sense after an impressive sophomore campaign. But rap star Lil Boosie appeared to take issue with the selection.
Boosie Goes Off on Caleb Williams Over Madden Cover
On the cover of the video game, Williams strikes his patented shivering pose, a nod to his Iceman nickname. He also sports his signature painted fingernails. This left Boosie upset. And he went off on social media.
“FINGERNAILS PAINTED ON MADDEN 😡YOUNG BOYS LOOK UP TO YOU BRO SMH N @ayeeecaleb THIS IS THE EXAMPLE U SET FOR THEM 😔,” Boosie wrote on his Instagram page on Wednesday (June 3). “PLAYERS SHOULD GRAB YOUR A** N THE LOCKER ROOM N CALL U CAREY EVERY TIME U THEY SEE U !! U WANT RESPECT FROM YOUR TEAMMATES N YOUR HANDS LOOK LIKE THEY B***H NAILS AT HOME SMH WHOEVER THOUGHT U WOULD SEE THIS ON A MADDEN COVER 🤮🤮🤮 I FEEL SORRY FOR THESE KIDS.”
Of course, there were plenty of reactions to Boosie’s social media post.
“Boosie gotta learn there’s battles you just can’t win. Take care of your family and stay out of the way,” one user wrote in the comments section of the social media post.
“Ahhh, yes, the beacon of great role models, Lil Boosie, speaks again,” a second user chimed in.
“He’s honoring his mom, who’s a nail tech OG.. chill out on my QB,” a third user remarked.
Williams finished the season with 3,942 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and only 7 interceptions. He also led the Bears to their first playoff berth since 2021.
