It has been well documented that Brian McKnight doesn’t have a great relationship with his ex-wife, Julie McKnight, or their children.
Julie has been especially vocal about Brian’s relationship with his children. Previously describing it as “abusive” and even accusing him of calling their children “products of sin.”
Brian McKnight Brags About $9 Million Legal Victory
Brian apparently just scored a huge legal victory over Julie because of her previous comments.
In a video posted to the singer’s social media account, he hints at scoring a nearly $9 million legal dispute over McKnight. Apparently, over her book “Mama Bear,” which details her experience in co-parenting their children. A book he claims is “filled with lies.”
“It’s been a long journey getting to this day: October 16th, 2025,” he starts the video. “But we are here in the English countryside, about an hour and a half outside of London. And the verdict is in. We’ve been quiet, listening to liars continue to lie and keeping to ourselves, living and loving our lives. As we said, leaving everything in God’s hands and letting our lawyer do the talking. But according to the courts, trying to ruin my name and trying to bring harm to my family in a book filled with lies equals 8.8 million dollars. And this is just the beginning. Because anyone and everyone who helped promote these lies will hear from my lawyer in the days to come. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Now, from my voicemail is the voice of a liar.”

McKnight then proceeds to play a voicemail from his ex-wife. One where she tells him to stop calling his son Niko.
“Do not text Niko again, do not call Niko again,” she says in the clip. “I am very serious about this. Do not text him, period. Period. Please understand that. And Brian, you know me. You know me, and you know that I mean what I’m saying to you.”
Niko passed away in May after a battle with cancer. He was only 32 years old.
